ABOUT FANWAR
Fantasy Warplay is a form of Live Action Role Playing developed
over many years of playing and testing out safe and effective
ways to simulate sword play. It grew out of playing in the woods
of Mendocino County, CA in association with the Melville Montessori
School and was influenced largly by Arduin, Magic the Gathering
and dramatic play. While Fantasy Warplay developed completely
on it's own it owes much in it's most recent developmets to
NERO (New England Roleplaying Organization) who inspired
us to take the game to a level we had formerly only dreamed
of. You will see many rules and procedures that have been adopted
straight from NERO, as NERO is one of the best Live Action Role
Playing groups around and there methods are tried and true.
To NERO, and especially NERO-West, we want to thank you,
and to all of you who are new to the game, please come in, have
a seat by the fire and discover our world. To learn about the
game and how it is played, start with the New
Players Page and then check out the Rule Book in either
PDF or HTML
format available here, online. If you have high speed internet
and can view avi format movies you can download the FanWar
documentary Demo and check it out in action.
If you are interested in NERO you can check them out at these
sites.

NEW THINGS IN FANTASY
WARPLAY
- I have added step by step pictures of making a basic modular
blade, hilt, and axe!! You can check them out through the Modular
Weaponry Page, or individually at Blades,
Hilt Making, and Axes
and Polearms! TEXT WILL BE FORTHCOMMING.
Enjoy.
The making weapons pages are quickly becoming a huge resource
for players needing to make their weapons for the comming season.
Check out the new Mastercrafted
Swords (still modular too!). Their are working
drawings of broadswords and to scale
sketches of axes available online so help yourself.
- Want to get started making weapons for your characters. No
problem! The Making Weapons site
is growing fast, with images for your reference and will soon
have extra pages with detailed instructions and diagrams. Enjoy
and spread the news.
- Discussion on changes for next season has begun. We have a few
plans for making it harder to level up so fast and thus slow down
the game for new players so they can get use to it before they
are having fireballs etc. thrown at them! Looks good. Rest assured
that the game won't change that much for next season and you can
probably even write in the changes to your current rule books
before I print the new ones. If you have any ideas or concerns,
email me at christopherpuma@fanwar.com.
